Kadima at Kol Shalom
Kadima is a youth group specially designed for middle schoolers who will eventually move into the Synagogue's United Synagogue Youth (USY) programs and are ready to develop their leadership and social skills that will serve them well throughout their lives. They are involved in community charity programs and begin their involvement in Jewish national organizations such as Seaboard Region and the United Synagogue Youth movement. They go to the movies; enjoy ice skating and bowling; and organize Havdalah, sleepovers, holiday parties, and weekend retreats that provide opportunities for fun with their friends from synagogue. Kadima members also attend regional chapter and inter-chapter events with Jewish middle schoolers throughout Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia and parts of North Carolina. As a member of the Kadima youth group, middle schoolers have the opportunity to form life long friendships, get involved within the Jewish community and explore the faith in a fun atmosphere where it is cool to be a Jew.
