Shabbat Morning Service

Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington
6125 Montrose Road, Rockville

Congregants participate in all aspects of the service including leading services as shlichei tzibbur, reading Torah, chanting haftarah, providing a prayer or Torah commentary, and delivering a d'var Torah. We are fortunate to have a wealth of talented individuals who volunteer to lead us in prayer and who provide thoughtful commentaries. Many of Kol Shalom's young people as well as the adult members of the community take part. The participatory nature of our service creates an informal and spirited atmosphere, which gives us a true sense of community. We invite members and non-members to daven with us any Shabbat morning. Anyone who would like to participate in any part of our service may contact Rabbi Maltzman.

Gan Shabbat at Kol Shalom
What could be more fun than Torah stories, songs and movements on Shabbat mornings for your 2-5 year old? Sandi Jacobs is an exuberant and experienced leader who takes the kids through a magical journey on Shabbat. Everyone is welcome (non-members and members) and the program is free. Gan Shabbat meets on these Shabbat mornings at the JCC from 10:30 am – 11:30 am.
