Bikkur Holim Committee

"To minister to the sick is to minister to God",   Abraham Joshua Heschel

Sisterhood has formed a committee to help those in our Kol Shalom community in need of assistance.  All men and women in the congregation are welcome to participate. We now provide visits, phone calls, rides and meals to those who are ill and recovering.   For more information, to sign up, or to inform us of those needing our help call or e-mail:

Millie Rumerman 301-762-1432  or Paula Horowitz 301-365-7930

Wilkins Avenue Women's Assessment Center

Next Date: Monday June 4, 2012

Although the can openers didn't work that evening, the residents enjoyed a hearty meal which included meatloaf, tuna/cheese/rice/broccoli casserole, tossed salad, orzo, couscous and assorted beverages. The volunteer caterers were; Michael Lazar, Ziva Rubin, Steve Schwartz, Mary Lou and Gary Metz and Nancy Goldstein, the newest member of our reliable and generous team.    Every month, on the first Monday, year round, we provide a home cooked dinner for the thirty homeless women who are staying at the shelter, which is located on Parklawn Drive in Rockville. For further information contact Sandra Schwartz at ssketzel@gmail.com.
