Tefilah, Jewish prayer, can be so meaningful and even transformative when we understand and bring intention to the words that we pray. Come explore the meaning and intentions of Shabbat prayers to gain a deeper understanding of how they connect us with God, with tradition, and with each other. We will look at prayers such as the Shema, the Amida, the AshreiAdon Olam, and Kabbalat Shabbat.

Join spiritual leader Sally Heckelman as she opens the door for you to explore:

  • How to engage with the traditional prayers in a way that is personal and meaningful — even if you don’t speak or read Hebrew
  • How to understand, sing and engage with the melodies of Jewish prayer
The environment of the class will be a safe-space to learn and ask the questions that you have been afraid to ask before. No background in Hebrew or Jewish prayer is required.

Three-week session: Tuesdays, Jan. 26, Feb.2, Feb. 9 from  7:30-8:30 pm

*Please note – class is full. Registrations received after 12/29/20 will join a waiting list.
