Join Kol Shalom for a special observance of Yom Hashoah as we preserve memory through art with a live reading of a new play, “Cup Final Day,” by our own Alan Elsner.  It will be performed by a tri-generational cast from our Kol Shalom community, followed by a discussion led by Rabbi Steinlauf.

“Cup Final Day” takes us to the London home of Holocaust survivor Morris Winslow and his family in May 1967, a week before the Bar Mitzvah of his son and just before the Six Day War. When Morris’s sister Yardena arrives from Israel—their first meeting in 28 years—they are forced to confront tough questions that go to the heart of their identities and experiences.  The play examines issues of Holocaust memory and trauma, the lives of children of survivors, and Israel-Diaspora relations.

We look forward to seeing you.
