 s a special weekend of music and culture through the Gail Letzter Cultura
 l Arts Initiative\, featuring the acclaimed Trio Sefardi—a musical ense
 mble celebrating the rich heritage of Sephardic Jews\, descendants of tho
 se exiled from Spain in 1492.\nDrawing on traditions from Turkey\, Greece\
 , the Balkans\, the Middle East\, and North Africa\, Trio Sefardi brings c
 enturies of history to life through song and instruments including lute\, 
 guitar\, dumbek\, violin\, viola da gamba\, and traditional percussion. Mo
 st songs are sung in Ladino\, with some in Bosnian\, honoring the group
 ’s mentor\, Flory Jagoda\, the beloved Bosnian-born singer and National
  Heritage Fellow.\nThe weekend opens with Kabbalat Shabbat Evening Service
 s featuring Trio Sefardi followed by Sefardic Cuisine Oneg.\n\nIf you need
