 h\nPlease join us for a gathering at Montgomery County's only kosher disti
 llery!\nSong Dog Farm Distillery was recently profiled in the Washington 
 Jewish Week.\nWe'll get a tour of the facility\, learn about the backgrou
 nd of the husband-and-wife founder team\, and learn about the processes 
 for distilling and flavoring the products. We'll taste the products of co
 urse\, and they have products for sale on site.\nTime on October 18 is 1:3
 0 pm (meet at Kol Shalom)\, 2:00 pm start at distillery. We will organize 
 designated drivers/transportation. The distillery is in Boyds MD\, a 20+ m
 inute drive from Kol Shalom. All Kol Shalom congregants (over age 21) part

  Distillery. Song Dog sells bourbon\, rye whiskey\, vodka\, gin\, liqueur
 s and ready-to-pour cocktails. Its ingredients are sourced locally. All p
 roduction at Song Dog is certified kosher by the Chicago Rabbinical Counci
 l. Natural ingredients such as grains and water are kosher\, but other ing
 redients must be supervised. No food or drink is permitted in the producti
 on room in order to keep the facility kosher.\nTheir products have also ga
 ined recognition in national competitions. Song Dog took home five medals 
 in the 2026 American Craft Spirits Awards\, including one gold for its st
 raight rye whiskey. Song Dog won a silver medal for its straight bourbon 
 whiskey at the American Craft Spirits Association’s 2025 Heartland Whis
 key Competition and four silver medals at the inaugural Kosher Spirits A
 wards for its gin\, amaro\, elderflower liqueur and orange liqueur.
