The COVID pandemic is generating its own literature, and perhaps the best so far is Our Country Friends, by Gary Shteyngart – described by The New York Times as the finest novel by this American writer. The story takes off from the author’s gathering of friends at a country house in the Hudson Valley for what he thinks will be a short stay to wait out the spread of the disease. Our discussions are informal and readers are welcome to participate whenever they can.
