The next selection of the Kol Shalom book group is Sabbath’s Theater, acclaimed as one of the best novels written by the great American author Philip Roth. An NPR critic said of the main character: “It’s almost impossible to love Mickey Sabbath, and yet you do, even at his most appalling. If we can forgive Sabbath his crimes, perhaps we can do the still more impossible: Perhaps we can even forgive ourselves.” Discussions are informal and all readers are welcome whenever they can participate.
