On Rosh Hashanah, we go to a lake, river, or sea and recite the Tashlich prayers, wherein we symbolically cast our sins into the water and leave our old shortcomings behind us, thus starting the new year with a clean slate.

  • Sunday, September 20 (second day of Rosh Hashanah)
  • 4:00 pm
  • A brief, socially distanced ceremony
  • Wear masks
  • Bring bread, bird seed, or another symbol of sins to cast off
  • Feel free to bring a shofar if you have one and would like to join the concluding shofar blast (no sharing shofarot this year)

Directions From West Montgomery Avenue:

Take Hurley Avenue toward Wootton Parkway

Pass Watts Branch Parkway

Pass Dundee Road

Go around the circle at Feather Rock Place

Right after the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church and Latvian Museum, make the first left into the parking lot for Woottons Mill Park, City of Rockville

If you hit Feather Rock Drive, you have gone too far


Directions From Wootton Parkway:

Take Hurley Avenue toward West Montgomery Avenue

Pass Korean Presbyterian Church of Rockville

Pass Northcliff Drive

Pass Monet Drive

Go around the circle at Bouldercrest Court

Pass Feather Rock Drive

Right after the sidewalk protrudes, make a right into the parking lot for Woottons Mill Park, City of Rockville

If you pass the Latvian Museum, you have gone too far
