Kol Shalom’s next book selection is The American Way: A True Story of Nazi Escape, Superman, and Marilyn Monroe, by Helene Stapinski and Bonnie Siegler. The book weaves together stories of rescue from Nazi Germany, immigrant life, comic book publishing, and other popular culture to tell a story of Jewishness and “Americanness” in contemporary America. Discussions are informal and readers are welcome whenever they can participate.
