Protection. Safety. Strength. Power. In this time of increasing pandemic threats, we could all use a little more sense of safety when there is so much we can’t control. The Jewish people have a long tradition of finding ways of being safe in times of danger. Even if we couldn’t guarantee physical safety, our ancestors turned creative in becoming spiritually safe through the story of the Golem of Prague: a man-made protector of the Jewish community. Join artist Isaac Brynjegard-Bialik and Rabbi Shawna Brynjegard-Bialik to enter into this mysterious creative practice through this interactive and hands-on art project via Zoom. Along with the arts project, we will explore texts and ideas from Judaism about what it means literally to ground ourselves in times of uncertainty.
