Kol Shalom Book Discussion on Zoom
The Pity of It All: A Portrait of the Jews in Germany, 1743-1933
The January selection for Kol Shalom’s book discussion will be: The Pity of It All: A Portrait of the Jews in Germany, 1743-1933, by Amos Elon. It is a superb recounting of the story of German Jewry from mostly poor farmers and tradespeople to economic and cultural success, until the rise of Hitler. Book discussions are informal and all readers are welcome whenever they can participate.
