November 7th, 8th and 9th, 2025
Kol Shalom proudly presents a special weekend of music and culture through the Gail Letzter Cultural Arts Initiative, featuring the acclaimed Trio Sefardi—a musical ensemble celebrating the rich heritage of Sephardic Jews, descendants of those exiled from Spain in 1492.
Drawing on traditions from Turkey, Greece, the Balkans, the Middle East, and North Africa, Trio Sefardi brings centuries of history to life through song and instruments including lute, guitar, dumbek, violin, viola da gamba, and traditional percussion. Most songs are sung in Ladino, with some in Bosnian, honoring the group’s mentor, Flory Jagoda, the beloved Bosnian-born singer and National Heritage Fellow.
The weekend opens with Kabbalat Shabbat Evening Services featuring Trio Sefardi followed by Sefardic Cuisine Oneg.
This special weekend is made possible by a fund honoring Gail Letzter, whose love for Jewish arts continues to inspire and enrich our community.
