Leading with our Neshamas: A Workshop for New Kol Shalom Prayer Services Leaders

July 23, 2020
7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

One of the most powerful spiritual practices in Judaism is to stand before the congregation and help lift our prayers heavenward. This role is known as a “Shaliach Tzibur” or “Emissary of the Congregation” who gathers the energy of the congregation, and leads us in our davening and singing in all our worship services. Join Sally Heckelman, Kol Shalom’s new Director of Spirituality and Family Engagement for this exciting workshop on how you can take on this transformative practice in your life. In this workshop, Sally will help you explore the possibility of learning to lead the davening for Shabbat shacharit, Shabbat musaf, weekday shacharit, or maariv. Hebrew reading and basic singing skills are required, but no previous background in congregational service leading is required.
