Our next hike is Sunday, October 11 at 2 PM on the Rock Creek Trail. The trail is paved with gentle inclines, so sneakers are fine. Mid‑October temperatures are usually in the mid‑60s, making for a comfortable, easy walk.
Please RSVP to Andy Sheldon, email reply or via WhatsApp (please do not reply all). If you’re not in the WhatsApp group, send me your mobile number and I’ll add you.
Meeting location: Search “Parking at Rock Creek Regional Park” in Google Maps or “Needwood Lake Circle”. The main lot might be full on fall weekends, so you may need to park in nearby lots or along the road and walk to the trailhead at the south end of the big lot. Map and image attached.
We’ll hike about 1.5 miles out and back (about 1–1.5 hours) at a relaxed pace. The first short stretch is open, then the trail continues under trees along Rock Creek. Expect other hikers and cyclists. Port‑a‑potties are available at the parking lot.
Please bring water—and don’t forget to RSVP.
